Giving new meaning to close quarters

I wouldn't want to have to move furniture into this home. A house in the North End is only 10 feet wide and is said to be the narrowest building in Boston.

The residence at 44 Hull Street was built in the 1800s, reportedly to block the view of a neighboring home. It has only one window per floor, and there’s no front door visible from the street. So how do you carry furniture upstairs? The Boston Globe in 2005 interviewed the owners of the narrow residence and asked such questions. Apparently, it's a good idea to assembled pieces inside, and climbing the steep steps make for a good daily workout. The home is across the street from Copp's Hill Burying Ground, a stop along the Freedom Trail.
