The Chinese New Year is celebrated in Harvard Square with a Lion Dance around a lantern-decorated oak tree in Winthrop Park (corner of JFK and Mount Auburn streets), followed by a Chinese New Year parade down Massachusetts Avenue at 1:30. A cultural open house will follow at the Hong Kong restaurant.
The event is schedule from 1 to 4 p.m.
